horoscopes for virgo season (22 august – 22 sept 2025)
Virgo season marks the transition from winter to spring the southern hemisphere and the transition from summer to autumn in the northern hemisphere…
…Virgo is a mutable sign meaning it takes us from one season to the next in the four-season system of a year. we can interpret this as a dynamic ‘changing’ energy that enables movement and motion. Virgo is an earth sign. it is associated with the planet Mercury. i find Virgo energy to be incredibly invested in skill, discernment and understanding how things work.
there is also something about Virgo that i connect “processing” where one object becomes another object, perhaps this is connected to the ‘mutable earth’ aspect of the sign. Virgo always makes me think of dexterous fingers, bicycle gears, lego and tiny things (and somehow also mushrooms).
some keywords we can associate with Virgo are: analysis / refining / service / adaptability / know-how. (remember, this doesn’t necessarily mean people with a Virgo sun always connect with these words, rather i am speaking to the archetypal quality of the zodiac sign itself.)
this Virgo season starts off with a new moon in Virgo on 23 august 2025, which ushers in eclipse season*. eclipses always happen in pairs – a lunar and solar eclipse – and take place on average twice a year.
in the sky, eclipses are essentially a specific configuration between the sun, the moon and the earth. in astrology, the earth in some sense symbolizes our material body – we are earth and composed of earth and on it and extensions of it.
the sun and moon (referred to as “the luminaries”) are often about sight, consciousness and perception. something about eclipses impacts how we perceive our materiality, perhaps new things come into view, perhaps other things are obscured. often consciousness can shift, slightly – but meaningfully.
in general, i wouldn’t suggest “working” with eclipse energy. you wouldn’t set out to do an important job during a power cut. you would probably just lay low, maybe have some back up candles or a torch, watch the landscape go dark – and let light do its thing. the most important thing is to try be emotionally present with the energy of the current time.
*“eclipse season” is often understood to be the time of one week before the first eclipse, the two weeks between eclipses and one week after the second eclipse.
this month’s horoscopes include a note specifically for each rising sign and how the upcoming eclipses in Virgo and Pisces might affect you.
virgo
oh sweet virgo, i would be so happy if you manage to figure out how exactly to be present with the strange, uncanny and potentially relieving shifts that are taking place both within you and beyond you.
when i look at your season, i see a kind of emptying out, a system reboot. an electric shock. water and earth get redistributed, perhaps it’s dramatic, perhaps it’s necessary. if there was ever a time to cultivate the skill of irritable shedding, now is it.
you are either going through something big or something big is going through you. either way, do not over-exert your body.
if you are a virgo rising:
the upcoming eclipses will be happening in your first and seventh whole sign houses. this can cause some disruptions and drama, as well as beginnings and endings, in the area of life pertaining to your body, your self and also partnerships.
eclipses in angular houses (the first, fourth, seven and tenth house) are usually felt as quite strong events and should not be feared or worried about.
instead, i propose some kind of collaboration with sensations of break or redistribution. and when i say “collaboration” i mean a kind of presence, a witnessing. let yourself let things go.
and for virgo risings, that could be letting go of something pertaining to your physicality, your identity, your sense of self, all of this is related to the first house. the solar eclipse in pisces, which is happening in your seventh house might be part of a new chapter when it comes to how you do partnerships and close one-on-one relationships.
as one of my fav astrologers, Jessica Lanyadoo, likes to remind us – eclipses are also ‘lunar events’ – remaining emotionally present with what comes up during this time is pretty key. be kind, nourish your body, observe the rest.
libra
let your nightly dreams illuminate messages that you both get, and don’t understand. try write them down and put them in the pockets of your daily rhythm, forget about them and be astounded when you find them in six months time.
something about the warmth of your community is asking for attention. gush and pleasure in the beauty of the people around you, and let it feed back into the beauty of yourself.
it’s really okay to be confused about your relationships right now – it won’t last forever.
if you are a libra rising:
the upcoming eclipses are happening in your twelfth and sixth whole sign houses. eclipses in the twelfth and sixth, are not always felt in a super obvious way.
the twelfth house is most mysterious, related to a sort of collective unconscious that is all tangled up in mental health, ancestors and disembodied sort of “viiiiibe”.
it could be that there is something about inherited patterns of “getting it right” that you are ready to let go of. mystery is not perfect, mental health is not always nuts and bolts. stop trying to fix yourself.
the sixth house is about labour, work, physical health… it could be as simple as new work routine or exercise regime is ready to come in. just try not to pack your days with excessive amounts of tasks in september.
(ps: during virgo season, mars will be passing through libra, ie. your first house. depending on your relationship to mars, mars in the first can be a very enlivening or very annoying transit.
i suggest making time for physical activity without pushing yourself, or even watching competitive sports or films with martial arts, see what it brings up for you.
make room for conscious conflict, make room for competition… let mars energy exist somewhere in a healthy way if possible – don’t suppress, don’t be passive aggressive, don’t take your frustrations out on others.
be careful on the road and handling knives, tools or machinery. mars in the first can invite injury if we’re thoughtless and rushy.)
scorpio
your social sphere might be quite active this season while you secretly long for alone time. try find a balance between community and withdrawal. and don’t be afraid to initiate “alone-together” activities with your crew.
creatively, you might find yourself returning to an old idea or project. let going backwards be a slow retrieval and reminder of the things you want to bring with you into the future. let yourself play slowly.
you are approaching a sort of closing of the circle, thresholds are always mysterious – let discomfort feed your ingenuity.
if you are a scorpio rising:
the eclipses on 7 and 21 september will take place in your eleventh and fifth whole sign house. this indicates a kind of redistribution of energy around topics of your community, social groups, the sort of “scene” you’re in and your creative practice, erotic life and also possibly the theme of children.
one of my teachers, Austin Coppock, often refers to the fifth house as the things you make and your eleventh house as the people who engage with the things you make.
with the south node in virgo, it could be that there is something you are ready to let go of within your community or social scene.
and with the north node in your fifth house, there could more hunger and desire around your creative life and your erotic life. either way, these eclipses are shaking up something big when it comes to topics of community, children, creativity and play. let these parts of your life move and move with them.
sagittarius
despite the chaos in front, above and beneath you, there is a big comforting thing just in the corner of your eye – something you can sort of see only through a rearview mirror.
trust it, don’t rush it, it is supporting you to integrate the changes afoot. but you’re still at the beginning so don’t expect yourself to have the answers any time soon.
something about public/private could be particularly crunchy at the moment. let cracks and leaks show you what needs to slide and slip around. arrival necessitates motion. and when the going gets especially tough, slow down.
if you are a sagittarius rising:
the eclipses in virgo and pisces are happening in your tenth (virgo) and fourth (pisces) whole sign house. these are what we call “angular” houses and are very important parts of the chart, so when eclipses happen here it’s often very obvious or “feel-able”.
the tenth house is connected to our public life, career or what we are known for. it’s very visible. the fourth house, on the other hand, is deeply private and less visible and is related to topics of home, parents, lineage and some sort of foundation.
when eclipses take place in this part of the chart often we see some changes in the career, perhaps a change of home or something big happens in the place you are live. sometimes family secrets are revealed or obscured.
with the north node in pisces it could be there is just more emphasis on the movements that are happening in your private internal world. whatever the case, it is a good time to let go of certain patterns that you’ve outgrown when it comes to your career and your public life. and allow yourself to be surprised by new chapters unfolding in the home.
capricorn
september might feel marginally less hectic, but still frustratingly disorientating. this too shall pass. remember that for all your vision, you are a slow-burner. this tension is what makes you so weirdly gorgeous.
it’s okay if your beliefs systems are fundamentally changing, this is necessary. otherwise we end up with outdated maps and calcified guides. you are more adaptable than people give you credit for.
there is so much support to be found in your partnerships and close friends. practice receiving help, sometimes it’s the most generous thing you can do.
if you are a capricorn rising:
the upcoming eclipses are taking place in your whole sign ninth house of virgo and your whole sign third house of pisces. the ninth and third house axis speak a lot to education and knowledge, with the ninth house referring more to a larger horizon of knowledge – philosophy, religion, belief…
often we see long-distance travel and big ideas here. and the third house is more about local travel, neighborhoods, siblings and the kind of knowledge that might be see as “information”, the kind of knowledge that makes up your schedule.
with eclipses happening on this axis you might feel a subtle redistribution of energy around certain ideas you’ve always taken for granted.
you could be letting go of a certain belief system or theological framework. you could also be acquiring new insights into your neighborhood and close friends/siblings. as well as perhaps a longing to develop some new kind of skills or writing practices.
i feel like eclipses in the third/ninth help us integrate in a more material/mundane way, the big changes that were taken place in our career and home when the nodes were in libra and aries (roughly throughout 2023 to early 2025). let your gods, altars and practices around knowledge and belief shift to support the transformations you’ve been through.
aquarius
changey changey changes – big, small, personal, collective. you might be almost bored with how everyone is talking about how we’re on the precipace of a new era. at the same time, they’re not wrong and you can feel it.
your vitality is implicated in a new kind of energetic configuration, so practice holding your body in a way that is conceptually sound but structurally dynamic. try to see everything as a beginning, even if it feels like an ending.
there is cuteness in your relational field and this has a sort of knock-on effect to the more material concerns. try to be conscious about the redistribution of resources in your life.
if you are an aquarius rising:
the eclipses in september are happening in your second and eighth whole sign houses. for you, the second whole sign house is pisces.
the second house is about our material resources like cash, objects and also actually a lot about food and nourishment. my astrology teacher Austin Coppock talks about the second house being the stuff you put in your mouth on a very basic level and i have noticed this in my own life and transits to be quite true.
on a more psychological level, material objects come down to our values, as our values are often reflected through the objects that surround us.
the eighth house (virgo in your case) on the other hand is about shared resources like taxes, inheritance, grants or other shared finances. i often see this house as referring to less visible (and often more uncomfortable) parts of partnership, like all those weird parts where things begin to merge.
it’s a kind of confusing house to understand for some. but wedged between the seventh house of partnership, and the ninth house of belief – it invokes the aspects of resources that emerge when it comes to other people. having a virgo eighth house can make you very discerning about understanding the mechanics of what is “yours” and what is “mine”. the solar eclipse on 21 september in virgo might make “this is mine this yours” feel extra confusing or incredibly clear and revealing.
eclipses here could also shake up some things around your finances and material resources. try not to make any big sudden long term decisions around money during this period, but rather witness what unfolds. be open to trying different types of food or diets. and consider what kind of patterns or habits around “merging” you might be ready to dispose of.
pisces
there’s a pop and reboot and you’re allowed to take the space you need to manage this. the structural changes that you’ve gone through over the last two years or so are being lit up.
it’s like the new house that is you is finally getting electricity and lights installed. the installation is slow and dramatic, and the lights may not work first time round, but don’t give up.
there’s a benevolent sort of eroticism at play that can smooth over rough edges and even provide little healing tides. you might not see who you’re becoming just yet, but you can see the path towards that person.
if you are a pisces rising:
the total lunar eclipse on september 7 will take place in your first whole sign house. lunar eclipses always take place on full moons and our last lunar eclipse in pisces happened on 17 september 2024, so think back to that time to get a sense of the vibe.
when an eclipse happens in your first house it can feel exhausting, it’s good to give yourself permission to move slowly, nourish your body and support yourself in ways that allow you to simply be present.
look at this time as a sort of exclamation point in the longer story of change that is happening with your identity, with your body. changes happens sometimes in little bursts that can be shockingly legible. and change also sometimes happen slowly and gradually over time, barely perceptible until you look back and you’re like – wow, the core of who i am today really transformed back in 2025.
don’t think about it too much, don’t worry. just nourish, support, lay low and let chapters and narratives break, open, close and keep pulling you closer into alignment with yourself.
aries
it’s full steam ahead right now and maybe it’s great and maybe the steam is also a foggy cloud. try be creative with the weird energy that might be floating in your partnerships. try moving forward differently.
loss can turn out to be gain in the long run. the big turning that you’re involved in is not without its benefits although this may not feel tangible. actually nothing might feel tangible, and at the same time, everything might feel far too real.
either way, you are infinitely skilled at building something that is alive. moving slower than usual does not mean you’ve lost this skill.
if you are an aries rising:
the eclipses this season will happen in your twelfth and sixth whole sign house. for you, pisces is your twelfth house, which might be why you’re way more psychically sensitive than most people know.
with the north node lunar eclipse in pisces, you may notice your dreams are a bit weirder, more vibrant, more loaded than usual. sleep could be disrupted, so if you can, give yourself some permission to let night time be a weird time around the first week of september.
the partial solar eclipse in virgo will be taking place in your sixth house, a place of labour, work and to a certain degree, physical health.
generally when the south node transits your sixth house (as it is in your case for the next year or so) you can experience a vague kind of “draining” sensation. this is okay, as long as you don’t push yourself. instead, try to see if there is something about how you work and maybe also your work-out routine that you can let go of.
perhaps you’re ready to release a bad habit or change your set up of your working space. perhaps you’re realizing that you have to let go of jogging and replace it with qi gong or swimming. i don’t know… but letting something go often makes space for something new.
and when it comes to the eclipse around 21 september, i would recommend you steer clear of hard-core cleaning, strenuous activity or fasting. let a kind of natural draining also function as its own organic cleansing.
taurus
be open to a kind of subtle beautification process that is happening in your very roots. it’s entangled with the longer transformation process active in your creative and erotic life, which may or may not be visible to you right now.
virgo season reminds you of this slightly awkward part of yourself which just so earnestly concerned with pleasure and its uses. people like to call taurus energy ‘simple’ but we both know how many complex layers there are in the earth.
let something go this season, something material, symbolic or delightful but outdated. just let it go and find some kind of relief in the release.
if you are a taurus rising:
the eclipses are taking place virgo, in your fifth whole sign house of pleasure, eroticism, children, play and games and pisces, your eleventh whole sign house of community and social network.
the lunar eclipse on september 7 could bring a new spark of electricity in your social network and scene. perhaps highlighting some big changes that have been gradually taking place there.
think back to your main sort of “scene” in 2022 and how it looks now. can you sense some differences? the pisces eclipse in your eleventh house is happening on the north node which often brings in a sense of “more” where as the virgo eclipse happening on the south node (your fifth house) often brings in a sense of “less”.
another way we can look at this is a redistribution of energy. if you’re an artist, you might notice this taking place especially around your artistic practice and your community. eclipses can be feel confusing, or even like a you’re losing something. but often they are about clearing the space for something new to come in.
if you’re a parent, you could also be sensing chapters opening and closing when it comes to your children, maybe they are entering a new phase and it feels like a loss when in fact it is a sort space-making for a new type of relationship with your kids or the topic of children and childhood in general.
either way, try to participate through a simple kind of presence, a witnessing of the openings and closings at play.
gemini
if you’re able to lean into the weirdness of the times without straining your nervous system, this is likely to be a meaningful season for you. after last year’s growth (for better or worse) my hope is that you’re more integrated in yourself and thus better able to go with the flow, even if the flow is an electrical current.
the next few weeks might bring a kind of underground cleansing sensation, like the blocked pipes under your house are finally breaking. let them break. new pipes are good.
soothe yourself with a healthy type of competitive play, whether its erotic wrestling or diplomatic board games, even games where everyone wins can be delightfully tense.
if you are a gemini rising:
the upcoming eclipses will take place in your fourth and tenth whole sign house. the total lunar eclipse on 7 september happens in pisces, your tenth house related to career, public image and a very visible public facing part of the chart.
an eclipse on the north node here means this could form a meaningful part of the changes taking place in your career, which could be feeling kind of slow and stagnant, with saturn’s transit through pisces throughout 2023, 2024 and some of 2025.
saturn returns to pisces briefly and will be co-present with this eclipse, so the changes you might be feeling or craving have an extra heavy weight. if you’re going through a sort of “career crisis” right now, don’t worry – this is on time. there is a reshuffling of energy that in the long term has the potential to bring into more alignment with your values and desires.
with the solar eclipse on the south node in your fourth house of virgo, you might experience some changes happening in your home or with topics related to your ancestry, roots or parents. there could be some sensations of passing on, letting go or something being released. remember that loss does not always have to be perfectly understood to be honoured.
whatever these eclipses may bring for you, you are starting a new chapter of fundamental shifts where the kind of axis of life gets an influx of completely new energy. it’s best not to resist, but be conscious of perhaps the ways in which you want to change and plant some seeds of your desires into this new, early-furling energy.
cancer
in some ways virgo seasons plants you firmly in your home, your daily surrounds and regular routines. and in other ways this season sends you spinning off to other places, mysterious lands and new terrains, even if it’s in your imagination.
now is a good time to let yourself grow, let yourself get bigger with possibility, even with a kind of hope. hope is a word that is becoming increasingly radical. if you can, be curious about how hope and realism are compatible.
remember that you can be curled up at home and a voyager. let your neighborhood remind you of how vast and strange our planet is.
if you are a cancer rising:
the eclipses are happening in your third and ninth whole sign house. the ninth house is related to philosophy, belief, knowledge, long-distance travel. my astrology teacher Austin Coppock has mentioned this house to be where you can find the belief system that sort of provides the “map” for your life. that’s why this house is also entangled with religion and god/s.
with the lunar eclipse on 7 september happening on the north node in this part of your chart, you might feel some chapters opening or closing when it comes to these topics.
perhaps there is a new chance for travel, a new educational course or program you’re starting or finishing. it could also be more subtle, like becoming more aware of shifts in your belief system or the encountering of a new kind philosophy or theology that significantly impacts your life.
or you could be simply getting more into astrology, as astrology is associated with the ninth house 😉 having a pisces ninth house makes you incredibly open-minded. and also means that whatever sort of philosophy guides you, it has to “vibe right” with the rest of your life and is maybe not always so easy to languag. also – it has to be able to change. let your guiding beliefs change this eclipse season.
with the solar eclipse on 21 september happening on the south node in your third whole sign house of virgo, you might feel some shifts in your neighborhood. relationships with close friends or siblings might be entering a new chapter, perhaps closing an old chapter.
you could also just find that something about writing and communication gets sort of released and there is a some exchange of energy around how you express yourself that is entangled with the changes around your beliefs.
either way, remember that eclipse season is necessarily about some kind obscuration/revealing event with light. you don’t have to understand it for it to be meaningful.
leo
the lingering effects of all the miscommunications and crossed wires from the past few weeks are starting to settle down and if you can find some moments to escape into the crevices of sleep and your bed, you’ll be extra nourished.
embrace sweetness as a spotlight this season, especially soft and warm expressions of self-love, which could come with new little insights into your own particular brand of magic. beautify yourself but be cautious with your wallet. and if you haven’t yet felt the reverberations of change in your relationships, tune into them with a dose of optimism.
if you are a leo rising:
the eclipses this season are happening in your second and eighth whole sign house. the lunar eclipse in pisces on 7 september happens in your eighth house of shared resources, a somewhat mysterious house that refers to that curious terrain where money and materials start to merge.
events and transits in the eighth house are not always visible to us, but it could be that there is an evolutionary shift when it comes to how you share and what you share. this may also be entangled with something around the topics of ancestry or a kind subtle growth that is taking place in your unconscious.
the virgo eclipse on 21 september happens then in the opposite axis of pisces, which for you is the second whole sign house. the second house also invokes our resources, but not so much our shared or non-visible resources, rather things like our material belongings, cash but also is about food, what we eat and nourishment in some schools of astrological thought.
a south node eclipse here could indicate a change of sorts in your diet, perhaps a few objects mysteriously disappear. or perhaps in a more psychological way this eclipse could bring a change in your values, a shift in the kinds of objects you want to invest in or have surrounding you.
if you’ve been feeling a need to purge a bit when it comes to your stuff, follow that instinct. but don’t overdo, and i wouldn’t suggest any kind of deprivation diets or fasting right now.
