Live Arkive (2017)

‘Live Arkive’ was a multi-disciplinary collaborative exchange between myself and artists Coila-Leah Enderstein (South Africa), Ndinomholo Ndilula (Namibia) and Lavinia Kapewasha (Namibia).

The research took place over several months across various distances, with presentations of our work taking place in Windhoek and Cape Town. The core themes of the project explored topics of performance and archives through experimental and creative mediums.

The final sharing of the work took place in three different locations, the John Muafangejo Art Centre and National Art Gallery of Namibia in Windhoek, and Theatre Arts Admin Collective in Cape Town. The project encompassed sound and video installation, workshops, performance and aimed to open more dialogue and exchange between creative communities in Cape Town and Windhoek. 

Live Arkive was supported by an ANT Funding Grant from Pro Helvetia Johannesburg financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) as well as the Goethe-Institut Namibia and the John Muafangejo Art Centre. It was created in partnership with the National Art Gallery of Namibia and Any Body Zine.
